Just think about how many times weather forecasts have screwed up your skiing plans.  A lot right!!  Well the mission of our new site Aspenweather.net is to alleviate your pain and suffering concerning the same old boring and inaccurate weather forecasts.

  So you may be asking yourself how is this site any different from all the other junk that is out there.  Well my  friends there are a ton of reasons and here are just a few.

1.  We (Ryan and Cory) are experienced and accomplished winter weather forecasters.  More importantly, we don’t live in Denver, New York or Atlanta.  We live right here in the mountains of Aspen and Snowmass and observe the weather 24/7 for 365 days a year.  There is a lot to be said about LOCATION and we know the weather in our own backyard.

2. Aspenweather.net will strive to inform.  Our daily blogs will include real meteorology so you actually learn something and can make informative decisions weeks in advance.  We will tell you what is good about upcoming storms and also tell you what could go wrong.  Information is paramount to making plans whether you are coming to our lovely town for a week or its just a day trip.

3. Update, Update, Update!!!  The key to forecasting the weather correctly is updating as new information becomes available.  How many times have you heard a forecast of 12 inches and not a flake falls and the forecast never changes.  This is unacceptable to us and forecasts will be constantly updated if things go awry or more snow is going to fall.

4. A picture is worth a thousand words.  This site will provide video as much as possible so one can see whats actually happening in town or on the mountain.  Watching our forecasts verify and seeing it snowing is a lot better than just reading it on your computer.

We look forward to providing very accurate and stimulating forecasts for this upcoming winter.  We of course want to hear from everybody concerning valuable feedback on how we are doing.
